NYSC Orientation Camp Experience: What The First Week Teaches You
The first week of NYSC orientation camp teaches people different things. For some, it teaches patience. For others, it teaches how quickly strangers can become friends when everyone is trying to understand the same new environment.
You learn to move fast, listen carefully, keep your documents safe, and manage your energy. You also learn that small items can matter more than expected. A flashlight, waist purse, extra socks, or power bank can become important quickly.
Camp may feel uncomfortable at first because routines are different. Sleep, food, queues, drills, and shared spaces can take adjustment.
But the first week also creates stories. You meet people from different schools, states, and backgrounds. You hear plans, worries, jokes, and future dreams.
Preparation will not remove every challenge, but it gives you more room to experience camp without being distracted by avoidable problems.
